This pastel is inspired by the banks of the Shenandoah River. I love to look for arrangements in nature that feel like still lifes. This little vignette caught my eye for the fact that all of these clam shells were turned upward and facing the same direction. The color and graceful shape of the sycamore leaf adds so much interest.
