Blandy Vista
Original pastel, painted on sanded paper at the Blandy Experimental Farm Plein Air Festival. Much of the Virginia State Arboretum, the other name for Blandy, is walking trails through natural habitats. I painted this overlook of a meadow scene with the Appalachian Mountains in the distance. I am so pleased that this pastel, which I showed in the Festival art sale, was purchased by a family for their son, an employee of Blandy, who told me with pride, "I take care of that meadow."
