Autumn's Last Leaf
Original pastel on sanded paper. Last autumn, as newbies in VA, I so enjoyed the fact that we arrived in time to watch the leaves fall. At the very end of the season, when there were virtually non left, I looked up at the tree next to our RV and there was one, solitary leaf at the very, very top. I made it a quest to see if I could capture on video this persistent leaf as it succumbed to the cold and wind. For several days I watched and waited, and what came about was the painting of this pastel, and a charming little YouTube video that I titled, "Autumn's Last Leaf."
